Several important decisions have been taken recently in CONVEY – the project, which in a few years will turn the Port of Hirtshals in Denmark into a prototype of a green hydrogen ecosystem.
Specifications and requirements are being made
Significant progress in planning, engineering and selection of technical solutions have been made during the latest months. Dialogues and specifications of requirements are ongoing with off takers of green hydrogen, oxygen and heat, making the CONVEY project unique for utilizing not only the green hydrogen but also the by-products of the production. Thus, the project is progressing also on the commercial front.
Dissemination via multiple channels
The project has furthermore been highlighted in public media, and information about CONVEY and its progress can now be followed on a dedicated website and its Linkedin profile, as well as in this newsletter, distributed to the wide range of stakeholders in the value chain. In addition, all partners have been actively promoting the project in various events already during the first months of the project. Team CONVEY is not only looking at the progress in our Hydrogen Valley at Port of Hirtshals, but to expand and replicate the concept across Europe.
Learnings will be exchanged with other projects
A few months ago, one of the reference projects that CONVEY takes learnings from – Hellesylt Hydrogen Hub in Norway – has entered production. This project will be followed closely to benefit from experiences and learnings about green hydrogen production and utilization within local industry and mobility.
Furthermore, CONVEY partner VIREON is already preparing for a replication case in Finland, by securing precious Finnish grants for green hydrogen production for a transport use. VIREON secured already earlier an EU grant for building a green hydrogen refueling network in Finland and Denmark, and the production grant recently received supports the CONVEY replication.
2025 will bring new milestones and opportunities
We are welcoming 2025 with enthusiasm – the year when construction of the CONVEY facilities will start.
We are also looking forward to meet you and other stakeholders at webinars and conferences where green hydrogen is on the agenda – among these the EU Hydrogen Week in Brussels in October 2025.
